Planning a party is actually quite easy....

...Hosting a fabulous afternoon, evening or night of great entertainment doesn't have to be difficult either ...

You are most welcome to select any songs you like from within the Repertoire (after all it's your event) and if at anytime you need my help or advice, just let me know and I'll be happy to assist you.  However, one of the most important things to consider when choosing the songs for your event is the Theme/Mood/Atmosphere you would like to create

All of the packages allow for differing atmospheres (if required).  You might want an entire afternoon/evening of a more 'Relaxed' ambience, for a drinks reception or Dining perhaps.  You might want a more upbeat/lively feel for dancing.  You may also want to build the evening from a more subtle affair, from Dining, right through to a full-on Party Finale and onto the Disco Mix.  You can do all of this through the Repertoire and song selection.

You can give an indication as to the ambience you would prefer by selecting from these choices (you'll find them in the 'Choose Your Own Songs' section in the Repertoire)

​Of course, you don't have to choose any of the songs if you do not wish to.  You can simply let Ernie use his years of experience to build the performance for you.

Don't just choose songs that you RECOGNISE.   

It's easy to get carried away looking at all the Golden Hits, but be mindful that there are over 170 songs in the repertoire for you to choose from.  Nearly all of them are very well know timeless classics (along with a few more contemporary favourites), so please don't select them based on their title alone :)

Again, remember what atmosphere you're trying to create.  If you've opted for a more relaxed affair (as your guests dine maybe), 'The Coffee Song', 'Saturday Night (is the Loneliest Night of the Week) and 'Jailhouse Rock' aren't really going to be appropriate.  Similarly, If you've opted for a more 'Upbeat' set, then 'It Was a Very Good Year' may bring the mood down somewhat.

Be careful when choosing too many songs that YOU like.

Although there's no problem with this (after all, It's your event), selecting too many songs that You like may not be agreeable to your guests, or the ambience of your event.

Again, think of the mood you want to create.  Now take 'Bojangles' for example.  A fantastic song, loved by many but loathed by a few.  One or two personal favourites throughout the evening won't really matter too much, but consider this with 'Softly as I Leave You' and 'One for my Baby'.  Superb songs in their own right but together may bring down the mood, especially if your trying to create a more upbeat environment for your guests.

Timing can also play a part in setting the ambiance too.  That's why an experienced entertainer such as Ernie will know when to perform each song requested.  Let's say, for example, you chose the 3 songs above.  Leading the set with them could set the mood too low.  Separating them creates an aural Zig-Zag of emotion that will just confuse the atmosphere.  Knowing when to sing what (and how) is paramount to a successful performance, and therefore event.

Think about your event and the MOOD you want to create

Are you hosting a Dinner Party at home?  If so, you'll want something low-key that your guests can listen to and enjoy whilst they dine.  A brief interlude after lunch perhaps, with some subtle background music playing as your guests refresh their drinks and then onto something more lively for the night time.

Maybe you're celebrating a Birthday or Wedding Anniversary in a fine Hotel or Hall.  Something more upbeat and lively to reflect and enhance the happy mood of you and your guests.
